Conclusion. These studies indicate Cortoss is safe and effective in treating osteoporotic VCF using vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty. Pain relief and restoration of function with Cortoss is comparable to results found in the literature for polymethylmethacrylate.”
“Natural rubber (NR) was purified by saponification of fresh latex from Hevea brasiliensis and soaking process of the coagulum with aqueous NaOH
solution. This treatment resulted in the decrease of nitrogen content to the same level as enzymatic deproteinized NR. The saponification of NR latex and soaking of the coagulum gave the rubber having good processability with easy to cure. The saponified rubber showed outstanding CP127374 physical and dynamic mechanical properties such as high tensile properties, high storage modulus, low tan 6, low heat build-up and low dynamic compression set. The saponified rubber blend with Prexasertib styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) according to the recipe of rubber tire showed also a good performance. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. “Carcinosarcomas of the uterine cervix are very rare. Most of them have a homologous mesenchymal component, and cervical carcinosarcomas with a heterologous mesenchymal component are limited to nine cases.
A 61-year-old Japanese
woman was admitted to the hospital for treatment of a ureteral stone. Imaging studies detected an indistinct cervical mass. A histopathological diagnosis GW4869 cost of the cervical biopsy was a carcinosarcoma. A total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy was carried out upon a diagnosis of stage Ib1 cervical carcinosarcoma. Microscopically, the cervical mass revealed a carcinosarcoma consisting of endometrioid adenocarcinoma and chondrosarcoma. Immunohistochemically, p53 was positive in the epithelial and mesenchymal components. Postoperatively, the patient underwent radiation and chemotherapy. She is alive with no evidence of recurrence 5 years and 10 months after the operation.
We suppose that the similar proportion of p53 overexpression in both the epithelial and mesenchymal components may be one of the findings explaining the histogenesis of this tumor by combination theory.”
“Study
Design. A retrospective cohort study of the relationship between the structures that form the lumbar spine in humans.
Objective. To investigate the relationship between the segmental wedging of the vertebral bodies and that of the intervertebral discs, and between the overall lordosis angle and each of the 5 lumbar segments.
Summary of Background Data. Little attention has been paid to the internal relationship between the structures that form the lumbar spine. Understanding these relationships is instrumental to our ability to restore and rehabilitate the lordotic curvature.
Methods. Lateral radiographs of 101 adult lumbar spines were examined in patients at spinal clinics. The patients had no history of spinal surgery and no radiographic abnormality.
